Mr. David Norman Jude Roy, 66 passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in Independence, La.

Mr. Roy was born in New Orleans, La. to the late Raymond Leo Roy and Eugenie DeFraites Roy.

David and his mother were residents of Franklin, NC for nearly 30 years. David was then a resident of the Macon Citizens for the Handicapped (MCH) Group Home in Sylva, NC for several years until November 2016. David attended the daily workshop at MCH in Franklin for approximately for 20 years. He also actively participated in the NC Special Olympics Program. David was also of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his six sisters, Charlotte Roy Galliand, Janis Roy Wilken, Mary Roy Sanderson, Norma Roy Simoneaux (Keith), Dana Roy Sherlock (Nickolas), and Ray Lynn Roy Fredrick (Frank); a brother, Gerard Raymond Roy (Linda). There are 16 nephews and nieces that survive “Uncle Dave” along with numerous in-laws, great-nephews, and great nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Tien Duong officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
