Waverly, Ia - Abner Ogden, first white born child in Warren township of Bremer county, died Jan. 12 at his home in Oakes, N. D., his nephew, Frank Sturdevant, is informed. Mr. Ogden's parents were among the first settlers of this section. They moved to Mitchell county when he was a youth and later the family went to Oakes. He was a rural mail carrier before retiring several years ago. Survivors are his widow, two sons, and two daughters.

Abner, his wife, Alice, two daughters and a son moved to Oakes in 1900. Abner Ogden and Emery Handy were the first rural mail carriers.
Abner and Alice became the parents of William, who married Ella Meszaraos, Ethel, who married John Barnes, Kathie, who married Roy Phifer, and Aubrey Benjamin, who married Lucille Lieneman.
