Bruce E. Knapp, 85, of Harroway Road died unexpectedly in his sleep on Friday, March 12, 2021 in the comfort of his home.

Born November 11, 1935 in Shrub Oak, NY, he was the son of Gilbert and Camilla (Odell) Knapp.

Bruce was a 1955 graduate of the former Richmondville Central School. He married his bride for life, Rosemary Bilby, on June 29, 1957.

Bruce enlisted in the United States Army in 1958 and served our country in Germany until receiving an honorable discharge in 1960.

Upon returning home, Bruce was a machinist for 32 years for General Electric in Schenectady. He and Rosemary lived on the family farm and operated it as a hobby farm while working and raising their two sons.

In his leisure time, Bruce enjoyed meeting the guys for breakfast and coffee, tinkering with his tractors, and always cutting wood to keep the farmhouse warm. He loved spending time at his camp on the property where he and Rosemary often had barbeques for family and friends.

Forever cherishing his memories are his wife, Rosemary; sons: Steven (Shannon) Knapp of Richmondville and sons: Brian Knapp, Wade Knapp, and Adam Knapp; and Richard Bruce Knapp and his wife, Kay (Hong) Knapp of Springfield, VA and their two children: Daniel Gilbert Knapp and Joanna Helen Knapp; and his sister, Marie (Harold) Loder of Richmondville.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 4 PM to 6 PM on Monday, March 15, 2021.
