Harris served in the National Guard. He worked for many years as a building contractor. Harris enjoyed camping, car races, boats and the beach. He would always enjoy his time reading the News & Observer and the Raleigh Times. Most of all Harris loved to spend time with his grandchildren and celebrating Christmas.
Harris is survived by his wife of 29 years, Janet Spencer, his children: Susan Reams (Keith), Randy Spencer (Tracy), Amy Ham (Bobby), Lynn Collins (Chris), Jackie Gupton (Tony) and Ronnie Pleasant; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sisters: Alma Rae Hudson, and Linda Loftin (Barry); and also, many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery, in Louisburg.
