Michael Jason Hawthorne, age 49 of Ellijay, GA, passed on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. He was born December 27, 1971 to his parents James Manuel Hawthorne and Catherine Corrine (Seeby) Jenkins in Austell, GA. He always lived life to the fullest and enjoyed coaching football and baseball. He loved to go fishing, camping, and was a big fan of the UGA Bull Dogs. Michael had a huge plumbing family and enjoyed BBQing on his smoker for large groups of his friends and family. Michael was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his dogs. Michael never met a stranger. Michael is preceded in death by his sister Tammy Marie Hawthorne, grandparents Floyd and Odee Hawthorne, Henry Franklin, Sr. and Ethel Seeby.

Survivors include Fiancée Laura Lea Nichols, Ellijay; Sons Pvt. Logan Michael Hawthorne USMC Camp Lejeune, NC, and Kade Jason Hawthorne, Gainesville, GA; Daughters, Connor Elisabeth Miller, husband Marcus Miller, of Marietta, GA, and Reagan Nicole Nichols of Kennesaw, GA. Michael was expecting his first grandchild, Millie Marie Miller; Mother Catherine and Dad Leon Jenkins, Ellijay; Father James and Stepmom Margaret(Peg)Hawthorne, Braselton, GA; Sisters Cynthia Diane and Scott Isom, Lawrenceville, GA; Pamelia Denise and Terry King, Dacula, GA; Cindy and David Perkins, Maryville, TN; Mindy Jean Hawthorne, Loganville, GA: Brothers James Troy and Diane Hawthorne, Braselton, GA; Paul Leon Jr. and Jennifer Jenkins, New Market, TN; nieces and nephews Jamie and Heather Hawthorne, Danielle and Paul Connor, Skylar Isom, Dallas and Ryan Wallis, Grayson, Ashlyn Perkins, Jerikha Jenkins, Brandon, Dawson, Chamberley Hawthorne, Chelsea and Jeremy Mason,great nieces and nephews Hunter, Carter Hawthorne, Madison, Hudson Connor, Harper, Riley Mason; Mother and Father in law Patricia Gale and Stephen C. O'Connell, Jr, Tallahassee,Fl, and his dogs Gus, Mack, Frodo, and Jersey.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Trout Unlimited at tu.org in memory of Michael. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Logan Funeral home Chapel with Rev. Brian S. Clayton officiating.
