Lyman Lee Hirschi, 89, our beloved father and grandfather passed away January 18, 2009 at his daughter's home in Preston, Idaho.

He was born April 9, 1919 in Geneva, to Reynold and Frieda Hirschi. He married Helen Sharp on March 21, 1942. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on August 23 1943. They were married 63 years. Lyman was a faithful servant in the LDS Church. He served time as a home teacher, a counselor in the bishopric, Young Men, and Sunday School.

Lyman was raised in Geneva, one of 14 children. He always liked to have a nice car to go courting in. He raised five children in the family home in Geneva. Lyman was a successful dry farmer. He relied on the Lord for good winters and moisture in the spring and summer to grow good crops. He always found time to take his family to Yellowstone Park and Bear Lake for family outings. After retirement he moved to Preston to be near family.

Lyman is survived by his five children, Michele Hendrickson of Salt Lake City, Spencer (Sheila) Hirschi of West Jordan, Marc Hirschi, Kim (Jackie) Hirschi and Karlene (Hug) Love, all of Preston; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roy, Jesse, and Gordon Hirschi. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, seven sisters and three brothers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Karlene and her family for the wonderful care they provided to Dad.

Funeral services will be January 22 at the Geneva LDS Ward Chapel at noon where friends may visit with family that day from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. The interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
