"Walter Campbell Pack, son of James and Harriet (Saunders) Pack, was born February 2, 1880, at Indian Mills, West Virginia and passed away at his home in Eskridge, December 19, 1955, at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 17 days. Walter had lived in the Eskridge community for 57 years. On February 22, 1912 Walter was united in marriage to Georgia Finney at Alma, Kansas. His wife, Georgia, preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sisters, Jennie Freeman, Blue Springs, Missouri, Juanita Gilchrist, Longview, Washington and Annie Schwarting of Eskridge; a number of other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral service was held at Eskridge Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon December 21 with the Rev A S Whittemore conducting the service. Sylvia Simmons, organist played for the soloist, Aileen Foose who sang " Going Down the Valley" and "Rock of Ages." The casket bearers were John Schwarting, Luda Martin, William Corpening, Glenn Henderson, W.R. Logan, Russell Taylor. Burial was made in the Eskridge Cemetery, with Austin Funeral Home having charge of arrangements."
