Helen Leora Stewart, of Vendor, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Regency Hospital in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 77.
The daughter of Sammie and Bertha (Martin) Riddell was born in Vendor on October 7, 1943. She was a lifelong resident of Newton County and attended Bethlehem Church.
Helen loved playing Bingo and spending time with her grandkids. She was very loving and caring and went out of her way to make sure everyone was taken care of before her self. While growing up, Helen was the "Mother Hen" of the family, helping raise all of her siblings. She continued that later in life by raising her children, and helping with her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved her family tremendously, especially her grandkids and great grands, they were her world.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sonny Stewart; daughter, Janice Criner; son, Larry Stewart; four brothers, William, Daley, Keltner and Eddie Riddell; a half brother, Melvin Riddell and 3 nephews, Travis Flippo, Ronnie Riddell and David Riddell.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Henson and husband Terry of Mount Judea; two brothers, David Riddell and wife Carolyn of Vendor and Stevie Riddell of Western Grove; a sister, Cora Flippo of Harrison; a half sister, Lucinda Hampton and husband Clyde of Pelsor; five grandchildren, Jessica Criner (Steven), Donna Campbell (Jimmy), Ryan Criner (Bobbie), Justin Criner and Eric Wilburn; six great grandchildren, Samantha, P.J., Dominik, Gracelyn, Wayton and Braxton and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends who loved her and will miss her.
The funeral service will be at 2 PM at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper (410 W Court St) on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 with Bro. Wesley Ricketts officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery in Vendor.
The visitation will be at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison (501 Old Bellefonte Rd) on Monday from 6-8 PM.
Pallbearers are Terry Henson, P.J. Campbell, Brandon Middleton, Keith LaFollette, Kylan Collins and Adam Riddell.
