He retired from Ford Motor Company as a cycle checker after 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Doris May Hancock; son, James Anthony Hancock Jr., and great-grandson, Trey Stivers.
He is survived by daughters, Cindy Kleier (Tim), Karen Keeling (Mike), Mary Katherine Newton (Michael), and Dianne Murphy (Patrick); grandchildren, Nicole (James), Sarah (Tim), Jeff (Nicole), Katie (B.J.), Jimmy (Blaire), Amanda (Timmy), Jaclyn (Alan), Chad, Kevin (Melissa), Benjamin (Rachel), Emily (Matthew), Andrew (Natalie), Kenzie; step-grandchildren, Sydney, Jack (Grace), Brett (Emma), and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2 pm-8 pm Sunday at Ratterman Keenan Southwest Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Road. His Funeral Mass will be 10am Monday at Mary Queen of Peace, 4005 Dixie Hwy with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West to follow.
