Guy Wallace, age 88, of Rockmart passed away Friday, February 13, 1998 in Columbia Polk General Hospital, in Cedartown following a brief illness. Mr. Wallace was born January 26, 1910, in Polk County. He was retired from Forsyth Ford Co., where he worked as an auto mechanic, He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Elzo Augustus and Addie Lee Wallace; and his first wife, Mrs. Alma Wallace. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie M. Wallace, of Silver Creek; a daughter, Betty Parsons, of Rockmart; a son Georgia William Wallace, of Cedartown; a brother, Melvin Wallace, Pascagoula, Miss.; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 14, 1998, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence Garrett and Minister Alvis Miller officiating. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. Pallbearers include Don Simpkins, Earl Simpkins, Jr., Max Moss, James Osborne, Gordon Forsyth, and Elmo Peppers. Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
