Geneva Lucille Greener Roberts, our beloved Mother, Ma, and Aunt Lucille/Cissy, went to her Heavenly home Wednesday, March 10, 2021 . She joined her husband Jesse James Roberts, her daughter Linda Joyce Fesmire, her parents Arthur and Frances Greener, her brother Buddy Greener, her sister Dorothy Hays and other loved ones. She leaves behind her daughters Dianne Eason and Jamie Blackburn, and her sons-in-law Jerry Ralph Eason, Harold Fesmire, and Paul Blackburn. She was the best Ma to her grandchildren Kelli Eason Wynne (Kenny), Linda Singleton (Jerry), Chelsea Stringfield (Bryan), and James Blackburn (Shareece), and great-grandchildren Chloe, Kenny, and Cady Wynne, and Sarah, Jerry Wayne and Jesselyn Singleton.
Mother was born July 1, 1930, in Natchez Trace State Park where her father was employed. She shared her stories of growing up near Scarce Creek Church, and spent most of her life in the area. She met our Daddy at church, and they were married in Corinth, MS on August 2, 1947. They were married for almost 64 years before his death. She held several jobs including factory worker, grocery store owner/operator, school cafeteria worker, soprano in The Family Four gospel quartet, and her favorite - babysitting grandkids. Ma was a most patient lady, a true Southern cook, smarter than she ever imagined, and a possessor of the superpower of love, and she shared all of these freely with those she knew, especially her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We all will miss her tremendously, but our precious memories will keep her in our hearts.
Graveside services will be Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 3:00 at the Hare Cemetery in Lexington, TN. Reed's Chapel is in charge of the services.
