Richard "Ric" Charles Byrd, 52, passed away on March 7, 2021. He was an Equipment Specialist-Backflow for NAVFAC Midlant where he worked for the last 33 years. He was a loyal, trustworthy man, who loved the Lord, his family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his daughters, practicing & teaching as a black belt at Zanshinkan Karate, watching car & cooking shows. Ric was predeceased by his parents, Norman "Nick" Nichols and Dorthy Byrd.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tiffany Davis (Jeremy), Amber Hill, Amanda Joseph (Shawn), Jacquelynn Hannel (Eric), Alexis Byrd, and Reagan Byrd; brothers, Ronald "Eddie" Byrd Jr. and Robert Byrd; sister Veronica Byrd; 14 grandchildren, Riley, Emily, Kira, Jane, Easton, Shaelynn, John, Jaxton, Jarret, Johanna, Emmet, Julia, Chelsea, and Ellie; 1 great grandchild, Avanilaya; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:45 PM, on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM in Rosewood Memorial Park.
