Karen Davenport McKinney, 46, of New Bern, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Karen was born in New Bern on May 31, 1974.
She was a loving daughter, loyal friend, and respected life-long Brinson Memorial Elementary School employee. Karen cared immensely for the well-being and development of her students. She served her many roles in life with passion, authenticity, and professionalism -- all never without a healthy dose of fun, especially while at Ocracoke. But her greatest accomplishment in life called her "Mom".

She is survived by her daughter, Kailyn McKinney of New Bern, parents Ronnie and Nancy Davenport of New Bern, brother, Randy Davenport and wife, Melody, sister, Susan Davenport (Justin Honda), nephew, Ryan Davenport, and her beloved Bella.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Cotten Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel. Internment will immediately follow the service at Greenleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in New Bern, NC.
