On February 27, 2021, another Angel was called to Heaven. Susan L. (Goss/Kuhn) Morris, loving wife, mother, Nana, Great-Nana, passed away peacefully in Marysville, California, after a very short battle with cancer.

Susan was born on August 25, 1942, and raised in small town of Hammonton, California. She moved to Marysville and married Jim Kuhn in 1963. Together they had four children.

She worked as a telephone operator, school secretary, ER register clerk and then an Insurance Biller at Rideout Hospital. Susan and Jim divorced in 1983, but remained friends.

In 1984, she received a call from her former boss at Rideout, asking her to come work for him in the small town of Alturas, California. After one weekend of visiting, she and her youngest son, Jason, took off to begin a new adventure. She made many friends while working as an Insurance Biller at Modoc Medical Center, and eventually became the Administrative Assistant. Her two daughters soon followed her to Alturas.

In 1988, she met Bill Morris and they married on March 25, 1989. They enjoyed camping, attending NASCAR races, traveling to see the kids and grandkids, and just being together. Though they moved from Alturas, they soon came back to open their own business, Morris Floor Covering. After three years, they decided to move to Grass Valley and eventually settled in Marysville in 1996.

Although Susan enjoyed her time away from the working world, in 2000, she received a call from a former employee to come back to the billing office at Rideout Hospital. Sue was still working up until December 28, 2020.

Susan loved to read, Elvis, The Yankees, Tom Selleck, Tucker Carlson and NASCAR. A sign in their home said, "The conversation ends when the race starts". The same was true when Tucker came on. It would melt her heart when she heard the sound of Elvis coming from her grandson's truck, as it was proof he was raised right!

Susan's greatest loves were that of her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Though she would have to travel five hours to visit her daughter, Sheryl and her family to watch her grandkids' games, graduations or just to visit, well that was just fine with her. In order to visit her daughter, Pam, she would have to travel to Mobile, Alabama, but she didn't mind that either!

She enjoyed living close to her sons, and attending her grandkids local sporting events. She also enjoyed traveling with her very close friend, Sherry Strader, who became a special part of the family. Sue had hopes and dreams, but her biggest plan was to get her entire family together to attend the high school graduations of her only two granddaughters, Harley and Jada in 2022.

Though she had to work from home due to the threat of catching Covid, her biggest fear was having Joe Biden in office. Those restrictions did not keep her from seeing her loved-ones. Gatherings were just as big and a top priority for her family. Thankfully, the family was able to be together so she did not have to be alone.

Susan is survived by her husband of almost 32 years, Bill Morris; son, Joe Kuhn (Diana) of Yuba City, CA; daughter, Pamela of Mobile, AL; daughter, Sheryl of Alturas, CA; and son, Jason Kuhn (Tessa) of Marysville, CA. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Jared Kuhn (Catherine) of Olivehurst, CA, Tyler Kuhn of Yuba City, CA, Grady Server of Marysville, CA, Leonard, Logan, and Harley McLaughlin of Alturas, CA, Jace, Jett (AnnMarie) and Jada Larson; as well as her great-granddaughter, Cora Kuhn. She is also survived by her favorite son-in-law, Waldo McLaughlin; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Noel Kuhn. Susan also leaves behind her beloved "fur babies" Bella, Max, Ollie, Hank, A Rod and Hannity the cat.

Susan is preceded in death by her adopted daughter/friend, Sherry Strader; her Best Buddy, Dick Server.

Mom/Nana/Susie will be greatly missed by all, but she left so many memories we hope it will make up for the sadness we are all feeling.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Bertolini Ranch, 3742-A North Beale Road, Marysville, CA, at 1pm. Potluck to follow.
