Gerald "Jerry" Ray Hughes, II, age 55, of Trenton, OH, passed unexpectedly, Monday, March 8, 2021, while canoeing at Hueston Woods State Park. He was born in Middletown, OH, on December 9, 1965, to Vickie L. (Peyton) and the late Gerald Ray Hughes, I. Jerry was an accomplished keyboard artist and musician. He played the organ for Solid Rock Church. Jerry was in a country band ~ Yankee Grey. They were Sony Artists, which were nominated for Best New Artist in the Academy of Country Music (ACM); they played the Grand Ole Opry several times and toured North America extensively. Additionally, he played on many other artist's albums. He played Gospel Music with Two or More, and led worship at Beechwood Church of God.

In addition to his mother Vickie, he is survived by his children, Gerald Ray Hughes, III and Michelle Ray Grace Hughes; his sister and brother-in-law, Roberta & Mark Cottle; his nephews, Darrel (Lindsey) Cottle and Denny (Taylor) Cottle; his great niece and nephews, Gentry, Audrey and Bennett; his uncle Danny (Teresa) Peyton; and his cousin Billy (Katie) Peyton.
