Doris Ward, 84, of Poplar Bluff passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Oakdale Care Center.

Doris was born August 18, 1936 to the late Robert and Maud Eagle in Rector, AR. She married the late Vernon Ward on October 11, 1952. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2015.

Doris was employed at the Box Factory in Poplar Bluff for four years and then worked for the Poplar Bluff R-1 school district for twenty years as a cook at Eugene Field and Poplar Bluff Senior High.

She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and making quilts. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church for decades.

Doris is survived by two sons, Wendell Ward of Dudley, and Larry Ward of Poplar Bluff; one granddaughter, Amy Ward of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren, Lexi Vandergriff, Stormy Ward, Jayden Ward, and Scylla Baker all of Poplar Bluff; and two great grandchildren, Hunter Baker and Noah Baker of Poplar Bluff.

In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by a son, Randy Ward, who passed away June 19, 2001.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10 AM until time of service at Cotrell Funeral Service. Fuenral service will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
