He was a handyman that knew how to do it all and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He also loved having family gatherings and watching his grand kids play sports. In his early years, he was in the army reserves, sold insurance, and worked at Olivette Saw Mill in Greers Ferry for 15 years until he decided to open his BBQ Restaurant. He owned JR’s Hickory House for 10 years and then decided to retire. He became a handyman to all who needed him.
Left to cherish his memories his wife, Jeanette Wright of 28 years, children Tracy Wiedower (Randy) of Quitman, Tim Shue (Tonia) of Quitman, Amy Gentry (Jason) of Greers Ferry, Laura Saffell (Jason) of Stuttgart, and Jay Wright of Stuttgart, a brother John Wright (Gloria) of Little Rock, a very special life long friend, Travis Trice (Kay) of Stuttgart, and numerous other family and friends.
A visitation will be on Saturday, February 20, 2021 beginning at 1:00 PM at Lone Star Baptist Church in Greers Ferry and funeral services will be at the church at 2:00 P.M. by Bro Darvin Carlton and Bro. Bart Baker with burial in Shiloh Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Widower, Alston McDaniel Clay Dickerson, Terry Brown, Tim Shue, Jason Gentry, Jason Saffell, Zac Shue, Nic Shue, Travis Gentry, Hayden Saffell and Dillon Saffell.
