From an article publish on October 25, 1980 in The San Bernardino County Sun:
Aviation Electronics Technician 2nd Class Ronald D. Sisemore, son of Douglas and Victoria Sisemore of 170 Grace Street, Barstow, California, has returned from a deployment in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean. He is a member of Fighter Squadron 211, based at the Miramar Naval Air Station, San Diego. While deployed, his squadron was embarked aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation. During the seven-month cruise, the Constellation set a new Pacific Fleet record of 110 continuous days at sea while operating in the Indian Ocean. The embarked air wing flew more than 28,000 sorties and logged more than 10,500 arrested landings. The ship participated in several naval exercises with units from Great Britain, Singapore, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Port calls were made in Singapore, the Philippines, and Pusan, South Korea. The long trip home was made extra special when 350 fathers, sons and friends of the crew embarked in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii for the final leg of the homeward journey. A 1976 graduate of Barstow High School, Sisemore joined the Navy in June 1976.
