Julia Ann Rice, age 81, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born July 14, 1939, in Kildare, Oklahoma, the daughter of Cassius William and Lillian Grace (Slight) Sauer.

Julia was a union meat cutter in the grocery industry for 35 years. She was a member of the Miller First Baptist Church and volunteered at the Miller Christian Center and Senior Center.

On January 13, 1968, she married James Everett Rice, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2017.

Julia is survived by her two daughters, Saundra Beasley of Springfield, Missouri and Margarette Robertson of La Russell, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Susan Todd of Star, Idaho and Beverly Rice of Moscow, Idaho; two stepsons, Jimmy Rice of Star, Idaho and Brady Rice of Washington; one brother, Gene Sauer and his wife, Genie, of Emmet, Idaho; one niece, Carey Richie and her husband, Doug, of Texas; three nephews, John Sauer, Tommy Sauer and Terrel Tabor, all of Texas; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Cassius and Lillian, her husband, James, her brother, Tom Sauer and his wife, Dona, and one grandson, Bruce Robertson.

A graveside service, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, in Miller, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021, at the Round Grove Cemetery.
