ABSOLUM, Alfred Victor. Sergeant, No. 6030, born at Maidenhead, England, in 1887, and educated in England. The son of Alfred and Elizabeth Miriam Absolum, of Belmort Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire, England.

Married, on 23rd November, 1912, Hannah Fidler, daughter of the late Amos and Emily Fidler, of Hestor,England. Children, Eva May, Alfred Norman, Elsie Elizabeth Marie Absolum.

Enlisted at Warwick on 4th September, 1916, and sailed from Brisbane on 27th October for England, and went into Salisbury Plain Camp. Left for France on 28th March, 1917, and into Rouen Workshop till August. Sent into the line on 20th October, at Castre, and through fighting till the signing of the Armistice. Returned to Australia on 29th February, 1920.

Occupation - Retired Electrician.
