In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brothers, Keith, Carl, and Noel Ellis; sisters, Oleta Swarn, Bonita Volyes; and grandson, David Matthew Ellis.
Mr. Ellis was born in Farrington Township where he lived most of his life. He worked as a laborer in construction for many years and has also worked as a welder at Stanford Engineering in Salem. Mr. Ellis proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Kenneth always had a bright, sunny disposition and was always willing to listen and lend a hand. He never met a stranger whether they had two or four legs and he loved being outdoors. Kenneth will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his wonderful neighbors.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Chaplain Ernie Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Full Military Rites will be held by American Legion Post #141 at the cemetery. Memorials may be made in Kenneth's honor to Harmony Cemetery or Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
