Aaron is survived by his son, Ty (Sara) Johnson; daughter, Taylor (Adam) Hutchens, and their mother, Laura Johnson; grandchildren, Emery Ann Johnson and Brooks Archie Johnson; mother, Ann Johnson; sister, Kimberly (Joel) Slagle; nephews, Toby (Lindsay) Slagle and Jacob (Emmi) Slagle; special friend, Stephanie Bayne and her son Trey.
Aaron was employed by the Knoxville Utility Board (KUB) for over 30 years (1999-present). He graduated Gibbs High School in 1985 and furthered his education at East Tennessee State, Tennessee Wesleyan, and Tusculum universities. Aaron loved reliving his high school and college football days. He was an avid UT and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His passion was fishing and hunting and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed learning about animals and spent a couple of years working at the Knoxville Zoo. Aaron loved playing jokes on people, was funny, and every kid adored and flocked to him. He volunteered many hours to coaching and developing kids in football. Aaron had an infectious positive attitude; anyone who came in contact with Aaron left with a smile on their face and joy in their hearts. He was a member of Rutherford Memorial United Methodist Church (RMUMC).
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 promptly at 11am at the Clapps Chapel UMC Cemetery. COVID precautions will be observed, please arrive with a mask and plan to Social Distance. There will not be a receiving line due to COVID. Reverend Richie Hayes will be officiating the service.
