Carolyn Ann Ferguson 88, of DeKalb died Monday, February 15, 2021 at her son and daughter-in-law’s home in Belvidere, IL. She was born October 20, 1932 in Franklin Grove, IL and was the daughter of Lloyd and Hattie (Flare) Swartz.

Carolyn graduated from DeKalb High School in 1950. She worked in the purchasing department at Sears in DeKalb, Credit Union at NIU and at the middle school as a lunch lady in DeKalb. She was married to LaVerne Ferguson on July 22, 1951 in DeKalb, he preceded her in death on July 23, 2000.

Carolyn was a member of the DeKalb Moose Club and the Eagles Club. She loved Elvis Presley and animals. She enjoyed watching Price is Right and Fox News. She also loved reading and doing puzzles.

Survivors include sons; Randy (Pam) Ferguson of Belvidere and Barry (Dan Fischer) Ferguson of Rochelle and daughter-in-law Deb Ferguson of DeKalb. Grandchildren; Nathan (Michelle Sprowls) Ferguson, Trent (Jenny) Ferguson, and Annie (Ryan Severson) Ferguson. Great grandchildren; Kassidy and Vanessa Ferguson, Molly Irving, Brett and Dane Ferguson and Peyton Severson. Brother; Raymond Swartz of Tennessee, and several nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband LaVerne and son Rodney.

The family would like to thank Northern Illinois Hospice and Senior Helpers for all their love and compassion that they have provided these passed two months.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11:30am at Finch Funeral Home with Pastor Janet Hunt officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 10:00am until the time of service at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 masks and social distancing will be enforced at all services. Arrangements were entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL 60115 815-758-3841.
