Mrs. Katherine Cook Moore was born on March 13, 1933 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Jim and Alberta Cook.
At a young age she joined the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was a dedicated and faithful member and served as a Sunday School teacher, Church Secretary, and Treasurer. Katherine was also a devoted member of the Zion Hill Missionary Society, Chairman of the Deacon and Deaconess Board, and the J.H. Dowdle Gospel Chorus and the Zion Hill Senior Choir.
She graduated from East Depot High School. As a child, she had dreams of being a nurse and spent her life as a dedicated Healthcare Professional until her retirement.
Mrs. Moore was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Willie Sam Moore, Sr. and to this union were born nine sons and one daughter.
On Wednesday, January 27, 2021; she departed this life at her home.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, Willie, Sr.; she was preceded in death by four sons: Tommy Moore, Johnny Moore, Alfonzo Moore, and Jerry Lee Moore; a grandson, Antonio Davis; three brothers: Grover Lee Cook, Willie James Cook and Jim Cook; three sisters: Pauline Robinson, Bertha Stargill and Mable Berry; sisters-in-law, Jeannette Tucker, Annie Hutchinson, Johnnie Kate Moore Dillard, Corrine Moore, and Mattie Cook; and brothers-in-law, Pete Moore, Ernest Moore, Jack Cameron, Robert Robinson, Jesse Tucker, and Jessie Hutchinson.
