Peacefully, on Friday, August 30th, 2013, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton. Fred Patterson had just celebrated his 96th birthday on July 1st. Beloved husband of Mary Walpole for 69 years. Loving father of Bonnie Patterson-Collins and her husband Wayne Collins, daughter-in-law Sharon Patterson and her friend Stan Tolton, Lynn Cropp and her partner Norman Griffett, Heather Gowanlock and her friend Ward Cox. Grampa of Andrew Greig (Naterly), Kelly Greig, Mike Patterson (Deb), April Patterson (Jason), Dean Cropp (Sally), Adam Cropp, Luke Gowanlock (Kim), and Courtney Gowanlock (Tren). Great Grampa of Sadie Rahn. Brother of Sid Patterson. Predeceased by his son David, son-in-law Gord Gowanlock, and by his brothers John and Gordon. Visitation will be held at the Port Elgin Chapel of the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, 510 Mill Street, 519-832-2222, on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, September 5th, at 11 am with the Rev. Lyn Workman, officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara. Memorial donations to the Tara United Church or the Grey Sauble Conservation Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
