James B. Harrop, 95, a retired truck driver passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Calitri) Harrop for 73 years.

Born in East Providence, he was a son the late James E. and Loretto L. (Darcy) Harrop.

Loving father of Jane P. Pumple (Richard), Lorraine M. Harrop (Walter), Stephen K. Harrop, and the late James E. Harrop; father-in-law of Margery Harrop; loving grandfather of Jennifer, Sarah, Richard, Brenda, and James; great-grandfather of Trevor, Kendall, Benjamin and Victoria; great-great-grandfather of Jack, April and Margaret. James is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lillian Quinn, Chester Hogan, John Hogan, Earl Hogan, and Robert Harrop.

James served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

A visitation was held Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Benedict Church, Beach Ave., Warwick. Private burial with military honors was in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
