Betty Jean Yates – Age 76 of Murfreesboro passed away on March 7, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edna Sykes and brother, Bobby Sykes.

Mrs. Yates is survived by her husband, Joe Yates; son, Scotty (Kim) Yates; daughter, Tracey Jones (Chuck); sister, Linda Neighbors; grandchildren, Tyler Jones, Kaitlin Jones and Brittany Brooks as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Yates was a Registered Nurse for over 50 years at Nashville General Hospital and other area hospitals. She was an avid reader, quilter and loved to travel. She spent countless hours at ballfields watching her children and grandchildren play baseball and soccer.

Gathering of family and friends will be held from 11am until 2pm on Saturday, March 13, 2021 with a Celebration of Life service at 2pm in Dignity Hall at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be, Chuck Jones, Tyler Jones, Scotty Yates, Corey Barnes, Chad Neighbors, Jeremy Neighbors and Tim Coleman. Serving as honorary pallbearers, Steven Simon, Michael Wilkinson, Garrett Groom and Tommie Proctor.

The family would like to request pink flowers or donations may be made to The American Heart Association or Kidney Foundation.
