Vola Mae Couch, 96, of Springdale died March 18, 2001, at Northwest Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springdale. She was born July 3, 1904, in Day to Samuel Houston and Laura Frances Estes Moore. She was a former licensed practical nurse at the Pulaski County Hospital in Little Rock and was a private-duty nurse for several years. She was a member of the Methodist Church and attended services at Mammoth Spring. Her husband, Berry Alexander Couch, preceded her in death.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bill V. Couch and Patricia of Springdale; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Carpenter and W.O. of Charlotte, N.C., and Mary L. Owens and Boyce of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Cox-Blevins Funeral Home in Salem with Eldon Hellums officiating. Burial will be in Old Baptist Cemetery at Ash Flat.
