Vernon “John” Lee Moore, Sr., age 69, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, March 8, 2021. John was born on Sunday, July 15, 1951, in Buckhannon, WV to the late Bobbie Lee Moore and Helen Louise (Leasure) Moore Hall. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his son, Vernon “Johnny” Lee Moore, Jr.; his brother, Dan Moore; and his sister, Anna Hull.

John’s survivors include his significant other of 20 years, Barbara “Barb” Hale; his son, Paul Moore of Mechanicsburg; his two granddaughters: Gabrielle Hale, Macaylee Moore-Casanova; his four siblings: Peg Schaeffer and husband, Lynn, of Dillsburg, Bobbie Moore of Mechanicsburg, Jim Moore and wife, Darlene, of Middletown, Woodie Hall of Jackson, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

John enjoyed spending his time both hunting and fishing. He was the type of man that would help anyone in need. John was nice and caring with a true heart of gold.

John’s family will be celebrating his life at a later date. Cremation was private.
