Roger Dale Pennington, 73, of Freetown, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Roger was born December 20, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Kelly and Zelma Odom Pennington.

On February 15, 1970, he married Donna Matlock.

Mr. Pennington graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1967. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and received an honorable discharge after his service. Roger worked as a draftsman for Cummins Engine Company until his retirement in 1999.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Donna; sons, Aaron (Melissa) Pennington of Westport, Alan Pennington of Brown County; grandchildren, Hunter and Alyson Pennington; brothers, Wayne Pennington, Dean Pennington, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters, Kay (Rick) Haven, Patty Martin, Lisa Gibson, all of Scottsburg; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Olen Pennington and sister, Clella Pennington.

Inturnment will be at Bellsville Cemetery in Brown County.
