She was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Wooster, the daughter of Wayne and Aletha (Holmes) Jones, and graduated from Mapleton High School.
Roberta was engaged in farming all her life, and also had worked at PBS Livestock in Wooster and Penteair in Ashland.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Thompson, whom she married June 10, 1972; a son, Scott Thompson; granddaughters, Mariah and Emily; sisters, Becky Kelley and Julie Cline, both of Ashland; a brother, David Jones of Holbrook, Ariz.; and her stepfather who raised her, Daniel(Sue) Altfather of Polk.
Her parents died previously.
