A life-long educator, she became the media specialist at Air Academy High School when Townsend retired from the Air Force and was one of the first to transform a traditional high school library into a modern media center where every student had access to a computer.
She was known as a lovely friend, superb educator, author, hostess, loving wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Cheri Ann Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Marty Arrington, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
