CLARK Leonard S. of Sleepy Hollow, NY passed away on February 25, 2021 at the age of 92. Born and raised in New York City, after receiving his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1957, he moved with his family to Hempstead, where he established a private law practice. In 1965 he became a felony trial attorney with the Criminal Division of the Nassau Legal Aid Society. In January, 1968 he joined the Nassau / Suffolk Law Services Committee, Inc. as its associate director and became its executive director in 1969. He continued in that position until August 1990 when he resigned to seek judicial office. In January, 1991 he was sworn in as a judge of the District Court of Nassau County where he served until his retirement. Leonard was active in community affairs and received many service awards. He and his wife, Selma, moved to Kendal on Hudson in Sleepy Hollow in 2015. Leonard was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Lewis. He will be missed by his devoted wife of 69 years, Selma; their daughter, Cheryl, and her husband, Danny Brundage; step-grandchildren Dana Brundage and Danny Brundage, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family members. He will also be missed by many friends and colleagues. A private service was held on March 3 at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
