Michael Brett Wade joined the Lord and the great cloud of witnesses in the heavens on March 3, 2021 at
12pm. Michael passed away while surrounded by his loving wife and two daughters at Ridgecrest
Regional Hospital. Michael was 64 years old.
Michael is survived by his wife Pattye, their children Victoria and Clint Perry, and Katie and Iseah
Angkiangco; the world's three most amazing grandchildren: Jaxon Wade, Mia Rose, and Elizabeth Marie.
He is also survived by his father Bill Wade, and siblings Crystal (and Don), Mark (and Leslie) and Seana
(and Janna), as well as a host of other family and friends who love him dearly.
Michael Brett Wade was born to Bill and Dorothy Wade in Dallas, Texas on January 20, 1957. Michael
joined the U.S. Navy in September 1976 and served his country honorably for 25 years. His service
included the following duty stations:
RTC Orlando, FL for Boot Camp
NSHS San Diego, CA for Hospital Corps School
NRMC Oakland, CA
NSHS San Diego, CA to attend Pharmacy Technician School
NSMC San Diego, CA
USS Okinawa (LPH-3)
NSHS San Diego, CA as a Pharmacy Technician Instructor
USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) during the Persian Gulf War
BMC MCAS Yuma, AZ
BMC China Lake, CA where he retired as a Senior Chief, HMCS (AW)
After his Navy retirement, he continued to support his country as a civil servant System Administrator.
While stationed in San Diego, CA in 1981, Michael met his first mate and love of his life, Pattye while
training her in the IV room. Their first date was on May 3 rd and 57 days later they were married on June
28, 1981, at Kiestwood Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. In 1985, Pattye was honorably discharged from
the Navy upon expectation of their first child, Victoria; two years later Katie was born and completed
the family. Michael was a loving and faithful husband and devoted and proud father. His daughters will
always treasure his sense of humor, belly laughs, and long-winded explanations. As a Pop, Michael was
always holding his grandbabies and never missed a moment.
Michael had many gifts and talents. The Lord blessed him with a beautiful voice which he used regularly
to worship Him. Through his gift of teaching, he taught children's Sunday School, led the AWANA
program, and volunteered during Vacation Bible School. He was strong in his faith and his convictions,
and served as a deacon. As a son, brother, husband, father, and Pop, he strove to not simply teach the
Word, but live out his faith daily. His unconditional love for his family was a demonstration of God's
grace and mercy.
Michael loved long drives and never needed a map to know exactly where he was going. Michael had a
heart for adventure and for Texas football. If you were in the Wade house, you didn't get to hold the
remote: that was his! Give him a messed up computer, and it would be diagnosed and fixed before you
could blink. He loved to read fantasy books, watch western and action movies, and play video games.
Michael carried on his mom's family tradition of cooking raviolis every Christmas. Michael was a man of
faith who balanced strength, humility, and grace.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 13 th at 11am at the Immanuel Christian
School Chapel, 201 W Graaf Ave. Military honors will be presented. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you please donate to Immanuel Baptist Church of Ridgecrest, CA or the China Lake Museum
Foundation.
