A celebration of life will be held later this spring for Patricia Jean Perkins who passed away on March 4, 2021 at her home in Durham.

Pat was born on May 18, 1935 to Lawrence and Kathryn Aichlmayr in West Seattle, WA. Pat graduated from Edmonds High School in Edmonds, WA and married her high school sweetheart Dwaine Jones. She worked for a law office in Seattle, and had two children, Jeff and Janine. They moved to the Bay Area, then settled in Durham in 1964. In 1968 Pat began her career as a paralegal at the office of Leverenz & Ward. She worked for Carl Leverenz for 51 years, retiring at the age of 84! During that time she was also named Legal Secretary of the year for Butte County and was involved with the American Cancer Society, Easter Seals, Legal Secretaries Association and volunteered at Enloe Hospital.

In 1976 Pat married Morris Perkins in a poolside wedding ceremony where they cleverly surprised their guests. They enjoyed entertaining guests in their backyard where Pat was known for her lovely flowers.

Pat enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whether teaching them bunco, going to swim meets, baseball games or trips to Hawaii and Mexico. She loved travelling the world and was able to experience hot air balloon rides in Turkey, an African safari, ziplining in Costa Rica and many more adventures. Her annual Mother-Daughter trip was also a favorite. Pat had many friend groups including the Durham streetwalkers, Bunco, Bidwell Presbyterian church, and many others. She cherished her time with friends and family.

Her survivors include her son Jeff (Patsy) Jones of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter Janine (Dan) Burkland of Alamo, CA; three grandsons, Jackson, Scott and Grant Burkland; two brothers, Ron Aichlmayr and Gary Aichlmayr. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Morris and her sister Jo Anne Bucklin. Donations may be made in her memory to the Bidwell Presbyterian church or American Cancer Society in care of the Brusie Funeral Home. - Brusie FH website, and Chico Enterprise-Record, March 11, 2021.
