Robert John Gross, age 87 of Economy Boro passed away peacefully at home March 4, 2021.
Born in Fair Oaks, PA, he was the son of the late Paul F. Gross and Mary Jane Prichinello.
He was a retired supervisor at Duquesne Light Co with 37 years of service, and served on Economy Boro council 24 years with 20 of those years as president of council. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and a life member of the Economy Boro Volunteer Fire Co. Bob served his country in the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid softball player well in to his seventies.
Surviving is his wife of 59 years Eileen Easley Gross, daughter Jennifer (Patrick) Settlemire of Damascus, MD; son James (Shanti) Gross of Vashon, WA; four grandchildren, Joshua (Alexa), Sarah Settlemire (fiancé Corey) all of Maryland; Leah and Rachel Gross of Washington; and Bob's beautiful great grandson, Leo Settlemire of Maryland. Bob is survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Norma and Frank Wolff of Cranberry Twp; Sandra and James Jackson of Franklin Park and William Hoffman of Rio Verde, AZ and two close uncles James and William Gross and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and in-laws, Bob is proceeded in death by two infant children, Carolyn Marie and Bryan Robert; his brother Paul Gross, and sisters-in-law Lillian Gross, Mary Pallas, Evelyn Hoffman and brother-in-law, James Pallas.
In accordance with Bob's wishes there will be a private family viewing at Poland Funeral Home prior to a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 PM on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Our Lady of Peace, Conway, Pa.
Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
