UNITED STATES ARMY VETERAN

Charles E. Buckalew, of Montoursville, died on March 5, 2021, at UPMC Muncy. He was born in Fishing Creek Township, Columbia County, son of Russell O. and Fannie (Hess) Buckalew. Charles was a Korean war Army veteran, a tool and die maker at the former GTE Sylvania and retired as owner from Buck-A-Lew Tooling Co., he delivered meals on wheels, loved tinkering with his model A Ford and tending to his prized tomato plants, was a member of the YMCA, enjoyed reading and his beloved cat. He was a man of few words but he had a tremendous impact on many people. None more so than his three daughters, who were everything to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Larry; and two sisters, Virginia and Cleo. Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Ertel, Tammy French, and Lorie (Jonathan) Brown; sisters, Jane, sally, rose and Mary Rebecca; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service in Montoursville Cemetery.
