Joan "Joanie" Ellen Phillips, age 62, of Independence, KY passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2021 at St Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. She was born the daughter of the late Charles Phillips and Gertrude (Baker) Phillips on October 14, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Joanie will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as an electrical technician at Mazak for 25 years. Joanie was always willing to do anything to make people's lives better. She had a special place in her heart for her cats, Simba, Chumilina, Ginger Ale, and Sparky. She liked to watch NASCAR and travel to various baseball stadiums collecting bobble heads.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brandi Fields; granddaughter, Jazmine Faith Casey; and siblings, Betty, Roger, Freddy, Frankie, and Barney.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00pm at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Burial will follow at Independence Cemetery.
