Elizabeth "Betty" McNulty (nee Feiler), of Ringoes, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, PA passed away on March 4, 2021. Born July 19, 1926, in Richlandtown, PA. Daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Alscher) Feiler.
Graduated from Quakertown H.S. in 1944. Enlisted in the U.S. Army Cadet Corp and trained at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Graduated in 1947 as a Registered Nurse. Remained on Jefferson's staff for her entire nursing career of 40 years, much of it with her babies in the Nursery. Betty taught the breastfeeding class for many years.
Married Benedict Peter McNulty in 1952. Lived in Philadelphia for most of her life. A devout member of the Holy Child/Our Lady of Hope community.
Predeceased by her husband Benedict, son Peter Jay, granddaughter Kathleen Corrigan, twin sister Margaret "Peggy" Cygan, and sister Marie Popp. Survived by children Lisa Dolan (Dennis), Margaret "Meg" Corrigan (Michael) and Mark (Cathleen). Proud Mom-Mom of grandchildren: Danielle Martilini (Stefen), Michael Corrigan (Elizabeth), Peter Corrigan, Kyle McNulty (Kelsey), Ryan McNulty, Dylan McNulty; great-grandchildren: Raymond and Lydia Martilini and many dear nieces and nephews.
Betty shared an extraordinary bond, a "twin connection", beyond a sibling relationship, with her sister Peggy. "Together Again".
Betty's hobbies included: sewing, embroidery, knitting, and crafting. She had an uncanny ability at Chinese Checkers. She seldom was defeated. Betty was an avid gardener and nurtured her collection of African Violets. Betty enjoyed and understood basketball. Both sons played CYO and high school basketball. Loved her "Sixers". The Phillies provided many hours of enjoyment to her.
Her grandchildren were active and excelled in both music and sports. Mom-Mom was always proud and supportive.
Betty cherished the time she spent at the Cygan farm, each summer, picking fruits and vegetables. She so loved her time with Peggy and her family. The annual birthday bash was a high point of her year.
The final decade of Betty's life was touched by the unselfish love, friendship and support of her caregiver, Terry Maze.
As one of Betty's embroidered artwork always reminded us, "God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can, and wisdom to know the difference." Alzheimer's disease robbed her of many things she loved. May she rest in peace.
