Julie Anna Harrison
1935-2021

Julie Anna (Johnson) Harrison passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, in the presence of loved ones.

Julie was born on March 21, 1935 to Samuel F. and Alice W. Johnson in Houston, Texas. She grew up as the eldest of two daughters in a home that honored beauty and grace and early began training in classical ballet. She graduated from Houston's Lamar High School and Baylor University in Waco, after which she briefly pursued a dance career in New York City.

Returning to Houston, she met and married Robert Allin Harrison. Together they lovingly raised five children in Houston and Wimberley, Texas, where the family moved in 1980. Although Robert and Julie's union ended in divorce after a long marriage, they remained dear friends to the end.

Julie generously shone her light in each community she lived. Whether teaching ballet, performing in local theater of encouraging students as a CASA mentor, she never shied from bestowing a generous outpouring of her joie de vivre in many corners of her communities. Those came to include Mason, Texas, Llano, Texas and Bon Wier, Texas, where she concluded a Godly life as mother, grandmother and cherished friend.

Julie was a lifelong member of The Church of Christ, Scientist, and a proud member of the Daughters of The American Revolution (Samuel Sorrell Chapter) and Daughters of the Republic of Texas (Heart of Texas Chapter).

She is survived by her children, Robert S. (Devon) Harrison of Bon Wier, Tracey (Douglas B.) Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Heather Klausmeyer of Houston, Marina (Zach) Wilcox of Sweetwater, Tx, and Lt. Col. Barry A. (Missy) Harrison USMC, Retired, of Temecula, California; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 6, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, located at 618 Block Street in Port Neches, Texas, at 1PM. Following the service, all attendees are invited to share light refreshments served at the Neches River Wheelhouse, 720 Lee Ave., Port Neches, 77651.
