Ellen Louise King, 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Mishawaka. Ellen Louise Amerman was born November 17, 1930 to John Vann Amerman and Aubrey Marie (Griswold) Amerman. Ellen was born and raised in Clinton Indiana, had two sisters, Mary, and Iona, four brothers Wilbur, Richard, John and Willard who have proceeded her in death. April 30, 1960 Ellen married Joe A. King and they raised three children Jo Ellen, Gene and Kevin in their more than 60 years of marriage.
Ellen is survived by husband Joe, Granger, IN., children Jo Ellen, Granger, IN., Gene (Chris) Granger, IN., Kevin (Krista) Murfreesboro, TN. Five grandchildren Cindy, Aaron, Brooke, Kaleb and Kenna. Three great grandchildren Jailynn, Camden and Aaron Jr.
Ellen devoted her life to helping others and spending time with her family. Ellen resided at The Village of Arborwood, Granger, IN with her husband Joe for the last 12 years where she built many lasting friendships and was part of the welcoming committee to the new residents. Those that knew and loved Ellen described her as devoted, compassionate, selfless, loving, caring, thoughtful, amazing and most of all a warrior who never gave up. She was known as the “neighborhood mom” and the kids knew that she always had a smile for them, food, interacted with them and provided a safe and loving place for them.
We were all blessed by this beautiful soul and now she is in the arms of Jesus. We are celebrating her life and praising Jesus for this precious gift.
