Freddie “Fred” Hunter, 77, of Warrensburg, MO passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Research Hospital in Kansas City, MO. He was born on December 16, 1943 in Warrensburg the son of Delmar and Alta (Tyler) Hunter who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Harold Hunter who died in Vietnam.

On January 18, 1963, he was united in marriage to Betty Boosinger. Freddie was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church north of Warrensburg. He was an accountant and owned Hunter Bookkeeping and Tax Service for many years. He was currently working at Bruns Accounting and Tax Service, LLC. Freddie enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers and arrowheads and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Michael (Sherry) Hunter of Independence, MO, and Steven (Angie) Hunter of Warrensburg. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Grayson, Hayden, and Emery Hunter who reside in Warrensburg, a nephew, Rondal (Laura) Hunter of Warrensburg, and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Pulis officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery seven miles north of Warrensburg. Pallbearers will be Henry Feldman, Hugh Smith, Robert Roach, Lynn Harmon, Rondal Hunter, and Richard Bruce.

The family has requested face masks and social distancing will be observed.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Zion Baptist Church and can be left in care of the funeral home.
