Charles Vernal Waldron, 75, Martinsville, passed peacefully in his home on Friday, September 18, 2020, with loved ones by his side. He was born September 30, 1944 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late Leonard Vernal and Edna (Baskerville) Waldron.


Charles graduated with the Class of 1962 from Farmington High School in Farmington, Missouri. He continued his education, attending IU Kelley School of Business, graduating in 1967 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.


He served his country honorable, serving in the US Army during Vietnam, receiving a Bronze Star and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.


Charles was a salesman and food broker most of his life. He was the owner and retired from Multi State Sales in Martinsville


Charles was a longtime member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Martinsville, where he served as an Elder and was a member of the Chancel Choir. He formerly served on the American Legion/VFW military honor. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts. He was a member of the Woodworkers Club and the Beautification Association at Lazy River Village in Warm Mineral Springs, FL., he also enjoyed volunteering his time at the Emmaus Walks. Charles never met a stranger, he loved conversations with his friends and family. He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed gardening, singing, traveling to FL and most any hands-on projects. He was a great mentor to his family and adored time shared with them.


He leaves behind his loving family including his wife George Anne (Dunigan) Waldron, whom he married on August 20, 1976. Also surviving are his children, Jeanine Burge (husband, Ted) of Martinsville; Matthew Shireman (wife, Shantel) of Lake In The Hills, IL; and Katherine "Katie" Dollins (husband, Jeff) of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Matthew and Timothy "T.J." Davis, Joseph Burge, Chloe and Spencer Shireman and Phoebe Dollins and one brother, Kenneth Waldron.


Family and friends are invited to a graveside with military honors, to be officiated by Pastor Roxie McNelly, on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville. There will be no visitation.
