Brett M. Robertson, 79 years old, passed away on Oct 8 in Lynchburg Centra Hospital in Virginia.

After losing his bride in 2015, then his beloved dog Roscoe this year, Brett moved to Va. to be near his oldest son Scott where he became ill and passed away peacefully.

Brett was born and raised in Nebraska remaining a diehard Cornhusker fan.

Brett is preceded in death by his loving wife Jean of 55 years and he is survived by 5 adult children, Theresa, Cindy, Scott, Sandy and Randy, 14 grand children, and 13 great grand children.

Brett attended Chadron State College to become a teacher and spent many years working on the roads for NDOT until being hired as a business teacher and bus driver for Barneston Consolidated School. To work even harder raising 5 kids, in addition to teaching, Brett and Jean then bought the tavern in Barneston which became the infamous Brett's Place, hosting many beer gardens for the Barneston picnics, early morning coffee, lunch and dinner for the farmers and social gatherings for the whole community.

Brett and Jean later sold the tavern and went on to become traveling relief managers for the Motel 6 chain. After that adventure, they moved to Las Vegas where Brett first worked at the Barbary Coast casino and then as a limousine driver for Bell Limosines and Caesars Palace, bringing home lots of fun stories.

Brett retired and spent his time watching every Cornhusker game, and keeping up on all the stories thru various Husker websites. Brett mostly enjoyed visits from his kids, attending his grandkids sports activities and visiting with all the NE folks who came to Las Vegas.

A celebration of life will be held in Nebraska in the near future once plans have been finalized.
