Loyd Travis Alexander Sr. 89, of Wichita Falls passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 in Burkburnett, Texas.
A private Celebration of Life with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls with Pastor Darren Ward, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Loyd was born on November 11, 1931 to the late Wilson and Flavius (Brooks) Alexander in Savannah, Tennessee. He married Ida Hurst and the couple had three children. Loyd proudly served in the United States Air Force with a tour in Vietnam in 1969. After 20 years of service to our country, he retired. Loyd went to work at Austin Power as an electrician, and later became the Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of Wichita Falls. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being with the family.
Along with his parents, Loyd was preceded in death by his first wife Ida; and brother Bill Alexander.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Alexander; daughter Carol Smith and husband Bill of Kerrville, Texas, son Loyd Alexander Jr, and wife Debra of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and daughter Renee Cailteux and husband Larry of Chesapeake Virginia; stepdaughter Jane S. Gray; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sisters Nancy Price, Mary Jo Rose, and Nedra Green.
In lieu of flowers, the family family suggests memorial may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls 4909 Johnson Rd, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
