Texas marriage records show that Estella Wade wed J. A. Hill in Johnson County on September 21, 1887.
Survivors included her husband, J. A. Hill; daughter, Mrs. Conrad Blucher of Corpus Christi; three sons, James A. Hill Jr. of Alice, Wade Hill of Robstown, and Wilmot Hill of Austin; and a brother, Tom Wade of Fort Worth ("Corpus Christi Times," June 18, 1943).
Her parents appear to be the John T. Wade (#30917744) and Mary Smith Wade (#30917681) who are buried in Grandview, Texas. A news item about John's death identifies him as Colonel J. T. Wade and says he died suddenly at his home in Grandview on his 75th birthday ("Galveston Daily News," Galveston, Texas, March 4, 1893). The headstone, however, shows a different birthday. Elsewhere, Colonel John T. Wade is described as "a well-known pioneer." He was the father of Robbie L. Wade, who passed away in April 1920. She wed D. D. Pitts in Grandview on June 28, 1898 ("History of Texas: Fort Worth and the Texas Northwest Edition," volume 3, by Buckley B. Paddock, Lewis Publishing Company, 1922, page 232).
The 1880 federal census of Johnson County, Texas lists a J. T. Wade and wife Mary along with children Sallie, Thomas S., Estelle, Johny, and Robbie.
