Donald Ray Gordon Sr. was born on May 28, 1948 to Marcell Gordon and Rose Brumfield in Independence, Louisiana. He was one of 9 children, five boys and four girls.
The family relocated to Chicago, Illinois where Donald attended DuSable High School. At the age of 20, Donald enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Military Policeman in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on May 20, 1971.
On November 27, 1993, Donald met Queen Fuller, and the two joined in holy matrimony. Donald retired from United Parcel Service after 32 years of employment.
Donald loved drinking his Canadian Reserve Whisky and cursing "like a sailor"; however, he was a great provider for his family and had a big heart for helping those he cared about.
On February 12, 2021, Donald closed his eyes and rested from his labors. He was preceded in death by his parents Marcell and Rose; and two sisters Barbara Jean and Jeanette.
Donald leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Queen; three children Donald Jr., Mark and Leslie; four grandsons Donald III, Donavin Sr., Devon, and Dallas; three granddaughters Devanna, Sol, and Quarissa; two great grandsons Aviaunn and Donavin Jr.; four brothers James, Walter (Kat), Parnell and Dedrick; two sisters Linda (Clarence) and Sarah (Curtis); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives.
