Roger was born in Franklin on December 5, 1971 and went on to be with the Lord on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the age of 49. Roger was the eldest of three children born to Enos and Rebecca Ashley. He had a love of horses, tending to his yard, as well as gardening of all types. Some of his favorite pastimes included going to rodeos and spending time at the family camp on Bayou Chene. He was very patriotic, loved joking around, greeted all he came across with a smile, and truly never met a stranger. But most important in Roger’s life was his faith in the Lord and his love for his family. Nothing brought more joy to his heart than spending time with loved ones, especially his nieces and nephews whom he deeply cherished.
His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his parents, Enos Ashley and Rebecca Kaufman Ashley; his brother, Ryan Ashley and his wife Sarah; his sister, Allison Burgess and her husband Bruce; nieces and nephews, Hannah Ashley, Noah Ashley, Ava Burgess, Carter Burgess, and Cade Burgess; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Guy Kaufman and Lillie Diffee Kaufman; his paternal grandparents, Carol Ashley Sr. and Violet Theriot Ashley; his uncle, Earl Ashley; and cousins, Tracy Ashley Lajaunie and Jimmy Bridges.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ryan Ashley, Bruce Burgess, Noah Ashley, Dwight Kaufman, Kevin Pace, Jason Magee, and Keith Lopez. Honorary pallbearers will be Carter Burgess, Cade Burgess, Brian Pace, and Todd Ashley.
