Rebecca Faye (Lasley) Atkinson passed away on Tuesday, 2 March 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on 17 December 1949 to Lloyd and Yvonne (Fouse) Lasley. Becky was raised in the Gaston area and graduated from Wes Del High School in 1968 and moved to Winchester after marrying her husband of 49 years, Ron Atkinson.

Becky was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Winchester, where she sponsored the youth group for many years along with organizing many other events. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge holding several officer positions where she played a vital role in planning and organizing several community activities. She also volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank. She always had a passion to serve others. She graduated from Ball State University with an Education degree and used this to substitute and teach full time at Willard Elementary in Winchester. Becky retired from the Randolph Central School District in 2015. After retirement she could be found volunteering at Ascension St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester.

Becky loved traveling to all parts of the world, spending time with her family, chatting with everyone, reading a good book and curling up on the couch taking a nap.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents to include her step-mother Ida Lasley. She leaves behind her husband Ron; her three children, Matt (Bobbi) Atkinson, Cheryl (Kent) McKissick and Trish (Brent) Halper; six grandchildren, Shea Halper, Gabe Lacy, Olivia Atkinson, Ryanne Lacy, Logan Atkinson and Laynie Halper a brother Kenny (Steph) Lasley and a sister Lynn (David) Iseley. She also leaves 3 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling will be at 11:00 a.m. with a service to celebrate Becky’s life following at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, 6 March 2021 at the Winchester Nazarene Church with Pastor Danny Hines and Pastor Jeremy Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Cemetery.

Friends and family may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Becky’s memory can be made to either the Winchester Moose Lodge Scholarship Fund, 181 N. Middle School Road, Winchester, IN 47394 or to the Ascension St. Vincent Randolph Hospital Auxiliary Group, 473 Greenville Ave., Winchester, IN 47394. Becky’s memory will continue on with her generous donation to the Indiana Donor Network.
