Jane F. Ryan, 72, of McConnelsville passed away suddenly Thursday, February 25, 2021 in McConnelsville. She was born December 18, 1948 in Zanesville the oldest of three to the late, Sheldon and Ruth Maxwell Ryan of Malta. Jane graduated in 1967 from Morgan High School and Rio Grande College in 1971. She also had graduate studies from Ohio University. She taught many years for Morgan Local Schools and retired from Morgan Local Schools.

Jane was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of McConnelsville and served for several years as church historian. Also, a member of the choir for many years. She was a member of the Morgan Camera Club, Art Guild, and served as its president. Member of Ohio and Morgan County Historical Societies, Morgan County Farm Bureau, OEA, Women’s Republican Club, and was an initial board member of Morgan Co. CVB. She was also a member of the Morgan Co. Community of the Arts, active in community events and friendships of the "brunch bunch." For many years, she was a soprano soloist for many occasions, and was a member of the Marietta Chorale for about 10 years, and sang in a women's quartet for several years. She enjoyed photography and won several awards at the Howard Chandler Christy Art Show. Jane also liked traveling, history, reading, and was a fan of the Buckeyes, Reds, and Bengals.

She is survived by her brother, John Ryan (Sherry) of Nashport; and sister, Joslyn Scott of Columbus; two nieces and nephews, Colleen and Evan and Leslie and Lawyer. Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 1-3 p.m.at Miller-Huck Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held and she will be laid to rest beside her parents in McConnelsville Cemetery.
